I couldn't quite call this my FAVORITE, but I really did enjoy this project. It took a long time and was kind of the final straw in me understanding how to be patient with clay. Uh, project was a 5-stage evolution from one object to another; I love armadillos and I've always appreciated how interesting shoes can look.
Many shoelaces were lost in the making of this project, but thankfully all ears and tails survived.
The glaze for this was a shitty surprise. This is the same glaze as on the tea set, but either it was very diluted or fired differently, because no orange or white really showed up, and I lost a lot of contrast in the stripes and laces (they were supposed to be orangey, the body whitish), and the black on the face was supposed to be matt. Still, though, I'm very fond of them. My professor liked them, and I'm just insecure enough to adore him for it!
Oh my god babe these are fucking awesome, I adore them! I love how the toe of the shoe turns into his forehead, and the evolution from the bottom of the shoe into the shell is genius.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

Peel all of your layers off,
I want to eat your artichoke heart
No more leaky holes in your brain,
And no false starts.
